About A & D Music Incorporated


With a degree in Music, Rebecca Apodaca opened A & D Music in 1978 as a Rental, Repair, Sales and Service oriented business which served the local needs of South Orange County, California. We expanded through the years into seven locations and eventually National and International Business. We have been recognized with featured news articles: “Home Show” on ABC; DISCOVERY Channel, The Los Angeles Times; The Orange County Register, Entrepreneur Magazine Cox Television; Music Inc., KFWB Radio, KNX Radio, Music Sound Retailer, N.A.M.M. Playback.

A & D Music offered valuation for 10 years before Rebecca returned to her education through the University of California, Irvine for the Appraisal Studies of Fine and Decorative Art, in conjunction with the American Society of Appraisers. In 2006, she pioneered ASA’s creation of a Musical Instrument Category.  In December 2011, along with the Accredited Senior Appraiser designation, and the support of NAMM and NAPBIRT, she was able to establish this new category, for the first time in 75 years, with the oldest appraisal society in America. We offer IRS standards “Qualified Appraisals” that can be used forTax Donation, Estate  Settlement, Marriage Dissolution, Insurance Coverage and Claims as well as Expert Witness for litigation purpose.

A & D Music offers Prop rentals of musical instruments to the Movie, Television, Photographic and Theater Industries.  We offer consultant services to keep a scene authentic and to actors portraying musicians. Consultant services are also available for recommendation for sales, research of historical information regarding musical instruments, lectures for museums, private and educational organizations. We also Broker fine instruments.

Apodaca has been a Contributing Writer for the most circulated music products trade magazine, Music & Sound Retailer Magazine since 2008 for features including monthly articles called Appraisal Scene Investigation and Shine a Light. A & D Music is a proud member of National Association of Music Products N.A.M.M., American Music Conference A.M.C., National Association of Professional Band Instrument Repair Technicians NAPBIRT and American Musical Instrument Society AMIS.
